Yet every major media outlets runs their own polls and he never places better than 4th. Interesting. Who do you side with? The media or "we the people". Don't let CNN, FOX, Yahoo, or any other media outlet fool you.

The Book of Mormon - Keystone of Our Religion

This is an excerpt from President Ezra Taft Benson's 1986 October Conference address:

The second great reason why we must make the Book of Mormon a center focus of study is that it was written for our day. The Nephites never had the book; neither did the Lamanites of ancient times. It was meant for us. Mormon wrote near the end of the Nephite civilization. Under the inspiration of God, who sees all things from the beginning, he abridged centuries of records, choosing the stories, speeches, and events that would be most helpful to us.

Each of the major writers of the Book of Mormon testified that he wrote for future generations. Nephi said: “The Lord God promised unto me that these things which I write shall be kept and preserved, and handed down unto my seed, from generation to generation” (2 Ne. 25:21). His brother Jacob, who succeeded him, wrote similar words: “For [Nephi] said that the history of his people should be engraven upon his other plates, and that I should preserve these plates and hand them down unto my seed, from generation to generation” (Jacob 1:3). Enos and Jarom both indicated that they too were writing not for their own peoples but for future generations (see Enos 1:15–16, Jarom 1:2).

Mormon himself said, “Yea, I speak unto you, ye remnant of the house of Israel” (Morm. 7:1). And Moroni, the last of the inspired writers, actually saw our day and time. “Behold,” he said, “the Lord hath shown unto me great and marvelous things concerning that which must shortly come, at that day when these things shall come forth among you.

“Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing” (Morm. 8:34–35).

If they saw our day and chose those things which would be of greatest worth to us, is not that how we should study the Book of Mormon? We should constantly ask ourselves, “Why did the Lord inspire Mormon (or Moroni or Alma) to include that in his record? What lesson can I learn from that to help me live in this day and age?”

And there is example after example of how that question will be answered. For example, in the Book of Mormon we find a pattern for preparing for the Second Coming. A major portion of the book centers on the few decades just prior to Christ’s coming to America. By careful study of that time period, we can determine why some were destroyed in the terrible judgments that preceded His coming and what brought others to stand at the temple in the land of Bountiful and thrust their hands into the wounds of His hands and feet.

From the Book of Mormon we learn how disciples of Christ live in times of war. From the Book of Mormon we see the evils of secret combinations portrayed in graphic and chilling reality. In the Book of Mormon we find lessons for dealing with persecution and apostasy. We learn much about how to do missionary work. And more than anywhere else, we see in the Book of Mormon the dangers of materialism and setting our hearts on the things of the world. Can anyone doubt that this book was meant for us and that in it we find great power, great comfort, and great protection?

Waste and wear out our lives

I've posted videos 7-12 below. They are each about 10 minutes, but they are absolutely fascinating. Before you get all defensive and scared, just take a look at them and realize that you feel the way you do because you've been accepting the message our media wants you to hear your whole life. I'm not asking anyone to believe everything they see in these videos, but at least try and understand the other sides of the story.

Doctrine and Covenants Section 123:

12 For there are many yet on the earth among all sects, parties, and denominations, who are ^ablinded by the subtle ^bcraftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to ^cdeceive, and who are only kept from the truth because they ^dknow not where to find it—

13 Therefore, that we should waste and ^awear out our lives in bringing to light all the ^bhidden things of darkness, wherein we know them; and they are truly manifest from heaven—

14 These should then be attended to with great ^aearnestness.

15 Let no man count them as small things; for there is much which lieth in futurity, pertaining to the saints, which depends upon these things.

16 You know, brethren, that a very large ship is ^abenefited very much by a very small helm in the time of a storm, by being kept workways with the wind and the waves.

17 Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us ^acheerfully ^bdo all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the ^csalvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.

I've talked a little about the media presenting their story in a biased way and a little about corrupt government. Combining those two I'm going to make a declaration that is going to anger some people, and that's fine. 9/11 was an inside, government orchestrated job. At this point I've probably lost about 90 percent of my readership because you are shaking your heads or rolling your eyes, but let me pose one question to you all:

Who do you think is responsible for 9/11 and why do you think it's them? The reason you think it's Osama bin Laden is because the media has spoon-fed that information to you. That is your only source and the only reason I thought the same way until 2 months ago.

There was a wonderful man names Aaron Russo who has pioneered an effort to help the general public understand the corruption in government. He spent most of his life in politics and spent many years rubbing shoulders with some pretty influential people. Take 10 minutes and watch this interview he did. You'll understand a lot more of the why 9/11 happened. Once you're done, check out the other videos that give more scientific proof that planes didn't take down the WTC.

There are a lot of wonderful, informative documentaries on youtube. One of them is entitled 9/11 Coincidences. There are 19 videos in the series and the first few are a few minutes a piece, while the later ones are about 10 minutes each. Do me a favor and watch the first few videos.

Wake up

Over the last few months I've learned a few things that have been sort of difficult to swallow. One is how corrupt and determined the big media networks are to push their agenda and publish their truth, while watching them systematically omit the real facts. I've been focusing on how they treat Ron Paul and it's interesting to track one story or person and see how the media time after time twists and contorts and fabricates so they can achieve their objectives.

The other frightening thing I've realized is that there are some very evil people in this world and they are right here at home next to us. I've been hit in the face with the reality of one of the important reasons we have the Book of Mormon. I've spent about 4 months really praying to have another confirmation of the truth of this book, and this past General Conference was a true answer to prayer as speaker after speaker testified of its truth and witnessed of its divine authenticity. My favorite talk was by Elder Callister and my favorite quote of his was "The Book of Mormon is either true or it isn't". For whatever reason, those words hit me hard and the Spirit testified to me that I knew it wasn't false, so I knew it was true. Since then my eyes have been opened further as to one of the important reasons we have the Book of Mormon. All growing up I remember hearing time after time the quote that "the Book of Mormon was written for our day". I'm beginning to see why, and I know there are various reasons, but one of them has to do with the topic of government, corruption, and secret combinations.

If we were to take a 30,000 foot view of the BOM and look at some themes we could pull some general storyl lines from it. We could say it is about prophets who followed the counsel of God and left everything to pursue a promised land. We could say that is talks about Christ's communications with his prophets and his gospel being established among the people. We could also say, and this is the one most pertinent to my rambling today, that the BOM is about 2 civilizations that let Satan introduce secret combinations among them with ultimately led to the overthrow of the government and the people's total destruction.

Now, if I were to ask you how many years you think this earth has left, what would you say? I asked my brother-in-law and he gave this world 39 more years until the second coming. One co-worker told me 15 years, another said in the year 2035. So, if our world were to hypothetically end in such a short period of time, why is it so hard for some people to believe that our government has started to walk down the slipper slope of greed, murder, lust, and corruption?

Check out what Moroni says in Ether chapter. He is talking about Akish and how Satan taught him of secret works and how to murder, plunder, and steal. He then says:

18 And it came to pass that they formed a secret combination, even as they of old; which combination is most abominable and wicked above all, in the sight of God;

19 For the Lord worketh not in secret combinations, neither doth he will that man should shed blood, but in all things hath forbidden it, from the beginning of man.

20 And now I, Moroni, do not write the manner of their oaths and combinations, for it hath been made known unto me that they are had among all people, and they are had among the Lamanites.

21 And they have caused the destruction of this people of whom I am now speaking, and also the destruction of the people of Nephi.

22 And whatsoever anation shall uphold such secret combinations, to get power and gain, until they shall spread over the nation, behold, they shall be destroyed; for the Lord will not suffer that the blood of his saints, which shall be shed by them, shall always cry unto him from the ground for vengeance upon them and yet he avenge them not.

23 Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain—and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God shall fall upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be.

24 Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.

25 For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies; even that same liar who beguiled our first parents, yea, even that same liar who hath caused man to commit murder from the beginning; who hath hardened the hearts of men that they have murdered the prophets, and stoned them, and cast them out from the beginning.

26 Wherefore, I, Moroni, am commanded to write these things that evil may be done away, and that the time may come that Satan may have no power upon the hearts of the children of men, but that they may be persuaded to do good continually, that they may come unto the fountain of all righteousness and be saved.

After reading this I "woke up" a little bit and started to read a little more about the references to secret combinations in the Book of Mormon. There are many references, and the end goal is always the same - to infiltrate the government with these secrets plans.
